Professor Ali Anooshahr won a Guggenheim Fellowship for work on a project titled "'I, Jawhar’: The Rise of the Early Modern World Through a Slave's Eyes"

Professor Ali Anooshahr won a Guggenheim Fellowship for work on a project titled “‘I, Jawhar’: The Rise of the Early Modern World Through a Slave’s Eyes” in which he will explore the life of Jawhar Aftabchi, who served as water-carrier for the Mughal Emperor Humayun and wrote a memoir in Persian about his experience in 1587.
