UC Davis History Department presents the 11th annual Eugene Lunn Memorial Lecture Coffee and the Conquest of the Night in the Early Modern Era by Cemal Kafadar Vehbi Koc Professor of Turkish Studies Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies Harvard University Cemal Kafadar is the author, among other works, of Between two worlds: the construction of the Ottoman state (University of California, 1995), and a far-ranging scholar on Middle Eastern history.
