Hindi/Urdu 022



Continuation of Nastaliq writing system and Devanagari writing system, survey of grammar, graded exercises and readings, leading to mastery of grammatical structures, essential vocabulary and achievement of basic reading and writing competence. Emphasis will be on developing communicative skills in both spoken and written languages within a cultural framework and also on building vocabulary in Hindi-Urdu. Hindi and Urdu will be taught in alternate weeks.

GE credit (Old): Arts & Humanities.

GE credit (New): Arts & Humanities, Oral Literacy and World Cultures.

Format: Lecture/Discussion - 4 hours.
