Hindi/Urdu 002



Continuation of the Devanagari writing system, survey of grammar, graded exercises and readings, leading to mastery of grammatical structures, essential vocabulary and achievement of basic reading and writing competence. Emphasis will be on developing communicative skills in both spoken and written language within a cultural framework and also on building vocabulary in Hindi-Urdu. Introduction of Nastaliq (Urdu) script to establish basic Urdu literacy.

GE credit (Old): Arts & Humanities.
GE credit (New): Arts & Humanities and World Cultures.

Format: Lecture/Discussion - 5 hours.
