Hindi 001: Elementary Hindi/Urdu

Hindi for beginners

With learner-centered, hands-on activities, the students will learn the Devangari script ( Hindi Script), everyday use and domain related vocabulary in HINDI/URDU. The focus will be on developing students’ oral-aural skills and raising their cross-cultural awareness about products, practices and perspectives of diverse Hindi-speaking cultures. The learners will explore the facts and facets of India’s history, geography, day-to-day life, and celebrations through the use of authentic texts, videos and audios.

Project-based curriculum will allow students to build academic proficiency in Hindi, using culturally relevant themes as a vehicle for listening, writing, speaking and reading tasks. Students will have access to individualized instruction and feedback.

The culminating theme-based presentation tasks will provide evidence that students have achieved the learning objectives.
