Arabic 021L: Colloquial Levantine Arabic

This is a course focused on the development of the speaking and listening comprehension of the Levantine colloquial dialect of Arabic.

Description

No experience in Levantine Arabic other than the material introduced in Arabic 01, 02 and 03 is expected. In addition, students will make progress in reading and writing Arabic using Levantine colloquial poetry as well as material written in modern standard dialect that is related to Levantine media and culture. Students who complete this course will be able to continue with third year Arabic.

Format: Lecture/Discussion - 4 hours.
