Student Learning Outcomes
By the time they graduate, ME/SA majors will be able to:
- speak, write, and read at an intermediate to advanced level in a language of the Middle East/South Asia
Assessment: Completion of two years of language courses in Arabic, Hebrew, or Hindi/Urdu, or passing a formal language test in a Middle Eastern or South Asian language.
- demonstrate a basic understanding of the history and culture of the Middle East/South Asia
Assessment: Final exams and/or interpretive papers from a representative sample of MSA 100 and 180 courses will be reviewed every three years for accuracy and appropriate breadth of knowledge.
- apply critical thinking skills and demonstrate English writing skills
Assessment: Interpretive papers from a representative sample of MSA 100 and 180 courses will be reviewed every three years for interpretive sophistication, and writing skills.
