East and South Asia,” by Dr. Elias Tuma on November 6, 2001.
“Afghanistan-Pakistan-India: Perspectives from Recent Field Work,”
by Dr. Nigel Allan on December 4, 2001. “Islam and Global World
Dis(order),” Lecture series organized by the African American and
African Studies Program and sponsored by Religious Studies Program
and the Office of the Vice-Provost Undergraduate Studies. Lectures
included: “Upholding International Legality Against Islamic and
American Jihad,” by Abdullahi An-Na‘im, Charles Howard Candler Professor
of Law at Emory University on April 3, 2002. “Gender and Women in
Islam,” by Amina Wadud, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy
and Religious Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University on May
6, 2002. “African American Islam,” by Aminah McCloud, Associate
Professor, Religious Studies at DePaul University on May 13, 2002.
