ME/SA Community Graduation 2013!!
You are invited to participate in the 2013 UC Davis Middle Eastern and South Asian Cultural Graduation Ceremony!
The ceremony will take place on June 14th at 6:30 pm in the Student Community Center, Multipurpose Room.
The Middle Eastern and South Asian (ME/SA) Graduation is a celebration of the accomplishments and milestones of graduating Middle Eastern, Muslim, Arab and South Asian students through a warm and culturally proficient walking ceremony. Students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to recognize the struggles and sacrifices that ME/SA students and their families face and overcome during their journey through higher education. Students will not only be recognized based on academic success but also their dedication to their beliefs, their support of their peers and the legacy they will be leaving behind. Students will have a more intimate opportunity to publicly acknowledge those that have helped them in their successes. This celebration is for our graduates but it also serves as an opportunity to role model the positive and fruitful aspects of our community. This role modeling serves as an inspiration for future generations of ME/SA students and community leaders.
***There will be student and faculty speakers, a walking and cord ceremony, performances and a chance for students to speak to their community and family members. Refreshments will be served.***
