Gayatri Gopinath received her Ph.D. and M.A.
in English at Columbia University in 1998. Prior to graduate work,
Professor Gopinath studied at Wesleyan University, where she got
her B.A. in Latin American Studies. Professor Gopinath has taught
in the Women and Gender Studies program at UC Davis since January
of 2000. In addition to women's studies courses, she also teaches
literature and global cinemas. Some of her current research interests
are sexuality, migration and South Asian diasporic cultures.
